Travelers to Egypt Complain: 'Too many Arabs'
Marco Villa | Nov 24 2009

Travelers often have a tendency for odd complaints. They will book a visit to, say, the Australian outback and then complain that it is too - oddly somehow - hot. China for a week, but then whine that the food is weird. And so on and so forth. But some Polish tourists may just be the more incredible in their complaints.

A Polish paper published a list of strange complaints voiced by Poles visiting Egypt.

The one that tops the list, in my opinion, is the critique that Egypt has “too many Arabs.” That’s right. Some Pole wanted to visit the Pyramids and was shocked - nay dismayed - that Egypt has 77 million Arabs. Did this guy/gal believe that the Pharaohs still ran the place? That’s what you get with an Arab country: Arabs, and lots of them.

While this complaint was idiotic and racist, another woman offers another complaint gem that may be characterized as a defense-mechanism. Magdalena Kwiatkowska has demanded monetary compensation from an Egyptian hotel after claiming that her 13-year-old daughter was impregnated from sperm floating in the pool. Why is this a defense-mechanism? People create defense mechanisms when the reality is too hard to bear, so they create their own facade as a cooping mechanism. That is Kwaitkowska’s problem. Instead of accepting the fact that her daughter is a, well, how should I put this? You complete the sentence. The fact of her innocent Polish daughter having sex - and with an Arab! - is too hard to accept. She instead blames the pool and floating sperm as if a woman could actually get pregnant that why (she can’t).

And, finally, here are two others moronic complaints from fellow Poles: “Too much sand on the beaches” and “Too hot” in the summer.

Imagine that! Sand on the beaches and hot summers in Egypt a land that is mostly...desert.

It begs the question: why bother leaving the house at all?
