No one man is more closely aligned with a company than Steve Jobs is with Apple, Inc. Bill Gates was the face of Microsoft, but he, unlike Jobs, never captivated audiences with displays of new products. The absence of Job is noticeable in that the man added energy to Apple.
The 54-year-old founded Apple 30 years ago and had been the force behind the company’s pioneering products. The Macintosh was Job’s idea. After being forced out of his own company, Jobs was brought back about a decade later to revive Apple’s sinking fortunes. Jobs incorporated a company he founded will in exile with Apple. Apple brought new software and a new design to Apple’s hardware that made the Mac cool once again. And then came the iPod. No one product has revolutionized peoples’ lives more than the iPod. And then the iPhone… and the rest is history.
Jobs was behind the revival, are revival that must have surpassed even his expectations. That is why when Jobs announced six months ago that he will be taking medical leave, Apple’s stock dropped. Jobs has diagnosed with cancer in 2004 and announced in January that he had hormonal imbalance.
Today, Apple excitedly announced that Jobs is back at work. Jobs will split his time working in his office and at home. No detail was given about his health expect that he had a liver transplant.
The world awaits a revived Steve Jobs to put on another great show with pioneering Apple products.
