GM Going Bankrupt?
Marco Villa | Feb 15 2009

General Motors, one of America’s failing automakers, will be going back to Washington cap-in-hand asking for more bailout money. The automaker received a bailout at the end of last year and is currently in the process of a painful restructuring that GM managers say will make it more profitable. But it still needs more federal aid to make it through to being profitable once more.

It should not get anymore money and shouldn’t have gotten the first bailout. General Motors has a problem with the unions that isn’t going to go away with money. The fat cat-run United Auto Workers has forced GM to the brink of bankruptcy through their selfish and short-sighted demands for un-affordable health care and pension plans, and wages that exceed productivity. And what did the UAW that is now asking for public sympathy do whenever GM refused union deals it knew were harmful to the long-term prospects of the company? Union goons rioted!

The Union would very much like the American people to pay for a bailout so that it doesn’t have to make any cuts. To hell with them! If they don’t want to sacrifice then I hope they find themselves out on their ass!

If the UAW refuses to agree to wage and benefits cuts, then GM without a bailout will fall into bankruptcy. And that would be a victory for freedom. I hope it will come to that, but, of course, it won’t. The Democrat party is a wholly-owned subsidiary of America’s unions and will never turn down an offer.
