End of The Oprah
Marco Villa | Nov 21 2009

The Oprah is coming to an end. For more than 20 years, the Chicago star has captivated audiences with her weight problems, Tom Cruise coach jumping, Gale shop talk; wait. . . did all this really captivate people?

Somehow Oprah has survived while so many others have faltered at longevity. Why? Ask your girlfiend, mother, sister or wife.

But everything has to come to an end and The Oprah is not - wait for it - being of immortality. In September 2011, The Oprah will host her last show.

The Oprah annonced this in teary-eyed fashion today. But all is not over. She’ll soon be starting her own network and while her daytime show will not be on, The Oprah is bound to host something. And The Oprah also has her own Sirius satellite radio show co-hosted by [girl?]friend Gale. So if anything fans should be joyous at the thought of a move between 1 hour The Oprah to 24/7.

Who will be the last guest? Anyone’s guess now, but I think a graceful ending where The Oprah gets married would be the way to go.

Someone not happy is a network executive at ABC. The Oprah served as a medium whereby ABC - the network that hosts The Oprah - would advertise its local news and television shows. But now that ever present audience is leaving elsewhere.

In 2011, The Oprah will make 25 years. A quarter of a century on T.V., how many can say that? [Hint: Heeerrrree’sssss:]
